As I sit down to write this on the eve of my 46th birthday, I can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for where I am today. Physically, I feel better than ever before, and mentally, I'm in a place of clarity and calmness that I hadn't experienced in a while. It's incredible how a little time off and a connection with nature can work wonders for your soul. It always does, but we forget until we remember …again.

The past year has been quite the rollercoaster ride – full of travel, new adventures, challenges that pushed me to my limits, and moments that tested my resilience. Through it all, I've remembered ( had to remind myself) that life isn't always about reaching the destination; it's about the journey and the person you become along the way. I feel like I've moved through three evolutions of myself - just this year alone.

One significant lesson cemented into my psyche is that achieving our goals isn't just about setting them; it's about the daily habits and behaviours we cultivate to move closer to them. It's about consistent commitment and showing up day after day. I’ve always known this; I’ve taught it for years through various programs, I’ve even lived it, yet I’ve never documented it until now.

This year, I embarked on a journey that took me to the Kokoda Track in July. The most gruelling trek of all with insanely treacherous hills and the giant steps ( up and down) were relentless, but the real preparation happened long before we set foot on that trail each day. It was in the months leading up to the trek, the physical training, the planning, packing, and then on the track It was about getting enough rest, waking up early, having a nourishing breakfast, and mentally preparing for the day ahead before heading out at first light. This is an evident reminder that success is always about the small steps that lead to various milestones.

The support I received during that trek from the porters by my side mirrors the importance of having a strategy and a support system in life. When we falter, when our energy wanes, or when balance seems elusive, those around us can make all the difference. We need them, just as we need a plan and consistent habits to reach our goals.

Speaking of goals, the process of setting them is just the beginning. It's the daily micro-steps and the commitment to them that truly matters. I’ve never loved goal-setting workshops even though I've run hundreds, it always felt like it wasn't enough. I think many get lost in planning and visualising the result but forget to identify what they need along the way visually. The plan is to tackle the dips and twists along the way, a strategy to maintain energy and well-being to handle whatever comes up. I’d instead plan for the process and align living with a disciplined commitment to the daily in microsteps that make achieving it possible. The focus on "how" –is where I see immense value and the greatest results in the people I work with.

That's why I started MYDAILY300 12 months ago, a movement focusing on a series of micro-commitments to show up for yourself daily . Doing 300 reps a day for 30 days. It's not about the difficulty but the consistency and dedication required. This challenge has taught me that taking small daily actions can lead to significant personal growth and achievement.

As we step into 2024, I encourage you to think not only about your goals but also about the daily habits and behaviours you'll integrate into your routine to become the person who achieves those goals. Seek external accountability and surround yourself with a support system to propel you forward.

If you ever feel like you need someone in your corner to check in on you, know that I'm here. Let's embark on this journey together, one micro-step at a time. Here are some suggestions to get you started:

  • Make time for rest and rejuvenation, unplugged from the chaos.

  • Shift your focus from the big goals to the consistency and commitment required to reach them.

  • Embrace challenges as opportunities for personal growth.

  • Develop strategies and gather a support crew for goal achievement.

  • Identify the micro-steps and daily habits needed for success.

  • Lead with truth and always see things through.

  • Prioritize habits that enhance your physical and mental well-being.

  • Find external accountability for your daily micro-steps towards your goals.

Here's to an incredible journey ahead, filled with growth, achievement, and the small daily actions that lead you to a version of yourself that you love.

Let me know if you’d like someone in your corner to check in on you 🙂
